Amrit is the Co-founder and the CEO of hyperexponential (hx), an analytical technology company pushing the boundaries of modelling and decision-making with the small, sparse and fragmented datasets that predominate in specialty and commercial insurance pricing.
Amrit is a qualified actuary and computer science graduate, with a broad range of experience across reserving and capital modelling, specialises in pricing – particularly the applications of modern techniques and technology to make practical, impactful pricing systems. Amrit is the Chair of a Committee of Actuaries in the London Market (CALM) sub-committee on Pricing, and regularly engages with, and presents to the market on these issues.
Before setting up hx, Amrit worked for 12 years in the Lloyd’s and London Markets, where he set up and helped build several actuarial teams from scratch, in London and Canada.
His most recent industry experience was as the Head of Pricing and Analytics of Tokio Marine Kiln, one of the largest managing agents at Lloyd’s; he joined them as the first pricing actuary in their 50+ year history, and established a leading pricing and analytics function, made up of actuaries, data scientists and developers working together to service the whole business (around £1.5bn of GWP).
