Behavioral Theories for Digitizing Insurance
A Talk by Dorothy L. Andrews (Chief Behavioral Data Scientist, Actuarial and Analytics Consortium)
About this Talk
This presentation will examine how the three most important structures in the brain dictate our behavior with a focus on attention. Attention is important to understand because our world is mediated by technology and holding attention across a medium such as mobile devices is more important than ever. The Elaboration Likelihood Model offers explanations as to how to address attention strategies. Finally, we will discuss how self-determination theory can be deployed using technology to attain a healthy sense of self, promote well-being, and potentially improve the financial performance of insurers.
